Canon EOS R10: A Compact Powerhouse

The Canon EOS R10 carries the quintessential mirrorless Canon look, yet it surprises with just how diminutive it truly is. At first glance, its compactness startled me—so much so that I double-checked the specs, only to find it shares a striking resemblance in size to the beloved EOS M50 Mark II. The grip, however, sets it slightly apart, offering a more secure hold. That said, those with larger hands might find its dainty stature a touch challenging, especially since there’s no provision to attach an external grip.
But therein lies its charm. The EOS R10 is not meant to be imposing. It’s a nimble creature, crafted for photographers who value mobility and discretion. It’s clearly designed for beginners or hobbyists, yet it doesn’t feel overly restricted—it offers enough features to satisfy even seasoned users in search of a lighter alternative.
Canon loyalists will feel instantly at home: the PASM dial is exactly where you’d expect it, and two control wheels—one for your thumb, one for your index finger—allow swift adjustments. Familiar buttons return, alongside welcome new additions like the AF/MF toggle and customizable M-Fn button. The fully articulating touchscreen and crisp OLED EVF round off a body that’s both intuitive and inspiring. The Canon EOS R10 brings professional-grade performance into a compact, lightweight mirrorless body, powered by a 24.2MP APS-C CMOS sensor and Canon’s cutting-edge DIGIC X processor.
